Brand Identity: The Elva
The Elva space is built on a philosophy of art and life that emphasize order, balance and simplicity. Elva is the Dutch word for eleven, paying homage to the building’s original eleven floors. Inspired by the definition of its original neoclassicism architecture design. I truly want the new residents in the building to feel exactly this way when they walk through the door of their new home.
In the heart of Vancouver’s downtown core, The Elva is located at 626 West Pender Street, with the newly renovated Malone’s Pub next door and Cartem’s Donuts just down the street. If you are looking for local transit, walk 2 blocks to the ocean where you will find the central-local skytrain and buses to take you anywhere. Welcome to beautiful BC.
The primary logo is used across all publications and it is the most recognizable graphic of the brand. The logo is typographic, meaning text-based. The design is inspired by the neoclassical architecture of the original building, using a typeface reminiscent of the era’s art and theatre.

The logo’s clear space is created by the ‘T’ in the ‘The’ of The Elva. No piece or other logo can come within the length of the ‘T’ on any side of the brand’s logo. The colors of the logo can be changed using the brand’s color guide listed above.
The brand’s secondary logo is made by the ‘E’ of Elva. The design is soft, yet bold and made to look like a wax seal in reference to sending and sharing mail or art during the neoclassicism era. The two patterns are for there to be used as decoration. One pattern is made up of the secondary logo and the other of illustrations used in the brand’s marketing.
