Identity Design:

Adage

I created Adage Art Supplies for victory. For the artist who stayed young at heart, for the CEO who dreamed of being a superhero and for the professional ballerina who once was a tiny tot.

Identity design for this company meant bringing the love and reality of dreams coming true alive. With vibrant and bold colors, and simple and sleek web design to mind-opening ads; the goal was for artists and non-artists alike to find everything they need at the heart of Adage.

Adage is an art supply brand offering a wide range of products both in-store and online. Adage offers items that are made with high-quality materials and are shipped directly to your home. The target audience is young adults and wanted to convey a sense of victory, while at the same time being realistic for them.

Specializing in paint, Adage has its own brand of paints that they want to share with the world. The style of these paints shares the brand design style of the whole brand both in real life and on the web.

The web pages were designed to be bold and easy to use. After researching several art store web pages and seeing the pieces that made those sites difficult to maneuver through, I saw the opportunity to create something inspired by clothing websites where products were easily accessible.

Adage Art Supplies ad campaign was discovered through the idea of possibilities. As artists and humans, we can sometimes get stuck in the boxes that we are put whether it is by society or by ourselves. This campaign is made to get the viewer thinking creatively, a reminder to make anything they want.

Upon making anything they want, the ad is directed to bring the audience to Adage to purchase their supplies for their new art journey big or small. Clean, minimal and effective, the simplicity of these designs share the idea of making good art.

I created a monthly magazine for Adage customers to take when at the till when purchasing their new art supplies. The three front cover designs were inspired by their packaging and brand colors, as well as high-end magazines.

While giving their customers a constant source of inspiration, they also provide a space for Adage to further advertise their products and have their customers take them home in a different way.
